Winter Steelhead are coming …

November 14, 2019 Brandon Worthington
A stunning Rogue Winter Steelhead.

A stunning Rogue Winter Steelhead.

As the days get shorter and the air gets cooler, you can feel an underlying eagerness lingering through our house. Brandon keeps subtly mentioning that he’s going to need a bigger net, and all his fly strategies, colors he wants to use. I open the laptop and the USGS waterdata site is automatically up. I wouldn’t even doubt that he’s started to do rain dances in the backyard. Someone is getting stoked for winter steelhead season! …If you’ve ever caught yourself an elusive, Southern Oregon winter unicorn, you understand.

Our winter program runs January - April. Drop us a line to find your unicorn!

Come Find Your Ghost

January 3, 2017 Brandon Worthington

We all have it as fly anglers, in some way or another, compelling us to one more cast, one more swing, one more run. It's there in us and our charged fishing partner, who when we look up all we see is an animated shape in the distance, fading being a log and mist and moving water, the occasional spray off his line as he sends a cast. It's also be the yearning of the next season, hatch, fish and experience. It's March Browns fading and the Salmonflies around the corner. It's the first of the summer Steelhead and the allure of the waking dry and free rising fish. The quantity of fish, the quality of season. And when we are in that next bend and around the corner, even that doesn't quell the feeling of anticipation for what's around the ultimate Oxbow.

The deepest pull is here.  Come find your Ghost...
